The Importance Of Smoke Alarms

Lets be real... no one likes that irritating, loud, beeping noise that the smoke alarm creates when the battery is needed to be changed. However, smoke alarms can save lives! It's extremely important to regularly check them and change out the battery when needed.
CPSC says this on smoke alarms:
"When smoke particles enter the ionization chamber, the smoke particles disrupt the current flow, which triggers the alarm."
Every year in the US, about 2 thousand people lose their lives in residential fires. Smoke and deadly gases will spread faster than heat. Smoke detectors will detect these gases and smoke an alert you of a fire coming your way or already in your home! Even inhaling these toxic gases can be fatal.
